A good friend of mine (who also loves wagons) directed me here to view some pictures of a really cool Buick Regal wagon that was modified to look and run like a GN/GNX.

Being a station wagon nut for many years I figured I would join up and look around. I know my wagon really does not fit with what this site is mainly focused on ( Classic or Muscle, V8, etc..) but figured I would post up anyway, since I see you guys are big on introductions. I have owned my share of Mustangs over the years (1988 5.0 GT hatch, 1990 347 stroker LX notch, 1994 5.0 GT, 1996 4.6 GT, etc...) but do to losing my job a while back, had to sell the last one to pay some bills. Hoping to get something soon, I really need to get my V8 fix back lol.

Anyway, I have also owned 8 Saturn's over the years, all have been good little cars and some have been used for SCCA competition. I picked up this wagon from an elderly couple who had been using it as a tow car behind their big RV. I stripped this car to the frame, removed the entire ABS braking system, swapped out the entire suspension, engine and transmission. Removed the interior and most of the electronics and wiring, to clean it out and re-build it. (Yes I know, it's a Saturn and I am crazy lol.) It comes in really handy for a small car but is still very fun to drive as I love good corners and twisties.

Cheap way to get your Mustang fix. Get a Fox-bodied Fairmont, Zephyr wagon and drop any of the Mustang powertrain combos into it! :Welcome:

Neat little wagon you've put together. Glad you found the forum. I have not seen another Saturn wagon done up as nicely as yours. Very trick.

Its a thing that started with the subie crowd of the wagon owners banding together against the sedans and coupes, since then its spread a bit and had several different variations (wagon militia for the veedubs and eurowagon tuners). A couple of guys stated using it with the saturns a while back and its taken off among the wagon tuners there. There are a number of sites that sell the decals in various profiles, we aren't thrilled with whats offered so are trying to have a new outline cut that better mimics the first generation saturn wagons (Plastic Fury's is the model we are trying to have replicated).

That is one hot looking wagon, Plastic. Great job. Did you ever go back to the elderly couple to show them what their car looks like now? I'm sure they'd be mighty surprised.
    Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. That wagon mafia decal gets a lot of questions for sure. Our community is a little odd being a Saturn and modding a wagon, well it just puts you in the odd of odd lol.

It's a fun car for what she is, the ride is a little rough for some but I am used it. Lots of fun in the turns though, surprised quite a few people for sure.

I might post up some pics of when I stripped it all down and rebuilt it, with Jon's help.

:Welcome: to the wagon train, Plastic Fury.

You're right about odd of the odd. :D
Thats a wagon model I don't see very often.

I like the sporty front end. I can imagine the performance and handling you get out of it.
    Nice work.
