Norman, on my 53 Ford F-100 I have run a volt - A drop resisistor to cut the voltage from 12 to 6 . Meanwhile the ballast resistor drops voltage to the points to 9 V. The heater employs a 56 12V motor . Ed Shaver
Yeah, I did similar things to a 1953 Chevy sedan delivery. 6 volt vehicles have lower gauge wiring (thicker). Its when you want to add new, more delicate circuitry that the old tricks sort of don't deliver properly. I like the old simple solutions far better, because you can fix them quickly.
