Hello, I'm new here to the station wagon forums just found it yesterday and joined today lol. I have always had a fascination with station wagons when I was a kid lol no sports car for me. I grew up with a 1989 Mercury colony park until stupid emission laws in VA made it difficult to keep a twenty year old car running toward their standards and rust so it was donated to the salvation army last spring. I regret this so so much for having a car like that in my life it grew to be a part of the family; I'll admit I did cry. Cool thing though it had 250,000 miles on it and still running strong just the exhaust gases not up to par. Well anyways living up in Illinois driving a '89 nissan 4x4 pickup which is nothing like the wagon.
Welcome and I feel for ya - it's amazing how we can become emotionally attached to a mass production machine. Must be some Freudian stuff in there somewhere... "Lost" mine a few years back too and although I'm now driving a car I have zero attachment to, I know I'll end up in one again someway somehow.
Thanks guys! I would love to find another 88 or 89 with blue velor interior to work on I'm not doing well with money lol I already have two vehicles that truck and a 1990 firebird. If I found one for super cheap that need lots of tlc that would be awesome. I'm not really good with bodywork but I can do everything else I made my firebird's front end a little "taller" if you know what I mean. I haven't really tore apart a ford 5.0 yet but I want to. Anybody hear of someone putting a 7.3 powerstroke into a frame like that? like the crown vic's or marquis?
...never tell us that your looking for a wagon....we'll spend your money like nobodys biz !! a power stro in a wagon??...hmmm....never thunked about that... ....that could be fun to the AA meeting for wagons
Don't bug me about it! I can quit wagons ANYTIME....Imagine a strung out shaking smilley here , I love Colonys and I feel your pain, I got rid of my 80 and have allways regreted it.
Nice I knew I made a wise decision you guys are funny. Yeah so many memories in the wagon and I absolutely loved taking it for vacation.
1st step...you have to phone every girl you ever seduced in a wagon..and say your sorry... ....(dont forget to tell them you have a New Wagon)
