Wagons in vintage Street scenes

the mopar wagon on the left, my dad had a 4 door, 3 on the tree. learned to drive on it.

 

I also worked at an I-Hop when I was a teen, probably about 19. I also worked there for less than a year, but I resigned because I got another job. I have been fired before, but that wasn't the case this time

Our I-Hop was also next to a movie theater, like the one in the original post

I remember going into it as a kid and being shocked by the way the ceiling was. It was basically a reverse pitch deal that came to a point in the middle of the building. Like they just turned the roof upside down on the inside. Clearly it was very memorable.

 

IHOP had hundreds, if not thousands of these stores built over time, all over the U.S. There were some differences between them, though. The store I worked at (west side of Culver City, only a few blocks from my high school) was on the small side. Our family occasionally went to a different one, in the West L.A. area, and it was a bit larger, more seating.

Today, they're not so picky about the unique store design. The one we have here in Springfield, looks more like a Denny's, but with IHOP's colors, logo, etc. I passed by another one on Monday in Eugene, and noticed it wasn't in a stand-alone building at all - just an outside corner of a strip mall with about 4 other tenants.
