Thanks Jack, but there are a lot of people who wouldn’t want me as President. I was very fortunate to have depression era parents. They taught me a host of things that sadly seem to be missing in todays society. I’m too old to start teaching.

Crap! I thought we had the worlds problems solved for a minute there.

When in doubt, Vote for Pedro…

As long as it doesn't turn into a personal attack, I'm OK with it. Expressing a belief is fine, disagreeing about them is fine, but to say "You're stupid because..." is not. It is also not up for debate with me.

Thanks. I think most of us grew up in the days when honesty and assuming responsibility were common values. It doesn’t seem that way in our society today. Our differences in opinion were settled in discussions, now it’s lawsuits and gunfights. Old habits are hard to break, beliefs and opinions are harder to hold back. Let’s take back our streets! And have wonderful day doing it.

This post is a little different then others. I was checking out one of my favorite old car related websites, and they had a short article and photos relating to Washington State Department of Transportation (John L O’Brien building) in Olympia, WA. A few things in the write up and photos caught my interest.

First, the parking lot scene with the John L O’Brien building in the back ground. I love the grounds at our state capitol and this building is one of the many impressive structures there.

In 2018 we took a trip (yes, in the Freestyle :thumbs2:) to Olympia. Aside from being an autogeek, I also love older architecture. I took quite a few photos, including this one of the boys in front of the John L O’Brien building, albeit from a different angle.

    Pretty fun.

Then there was this photo, taken on the Capitol steps.

So, two cool things about this photo in correlation to OrthmannJ and his family. (obviously this is a cool photo in it's own right)
First thing is, of course we took photos on the Capitol steps when we were there. They were from a different angle than the license plate photo, but here it is:

Caleb had found a cool old coin and was proudly showing it off. Mrs. OrthmannJ is not into having her photo taken, so she's heading up the stairs
The other cool correlation to the license plate photo is that they are 1935 plates. I just so happen to have a set of 1935 Washington State plates hanging on the wall in my garage.

You can find the entire story here: https://theoldmotor.com/?p=189815

I thought it was neat. A little personal connection to some cool historical photos I found on the inner webs.

Meant to share this last week but it slipped through the cracks.

The boys and I took Mrs. OrthmannJ out to dinner at her favorite "fancier-than-fast-food-but-not-too-fancy" restaurant for Mother's Day.

I took Joe, Ash, the boys and her parents out for Porterhouse steak birthday dinners for Joe and Ash from me, at Texas Roadhouse in Austin, back on Saturday the 30th. But, for whatever reason, no pics. Usually I'm shutterbuggin' but not this time.

    Another trip to U-Dub medicine.

Our usual drop off spot. Becoming our normal routine.

I went to the Burke Museum on campus.

Then I stopped by the Jacobson observatory.

I haven't been to the Burke since 1974 (third grade).

They tore down the old building and built a new one. Only been open a few months (was supposed to be open in 2019, but was set back by the rona) I actually parked in the lot that is located where the original building was.

We were in the Seattle area again mid week. We stayed in Bothell this time. As we were fueling up to head home the boys spotted this chivy in an adjacent parking lot. Of course we had to check it out.

Don't know if you're aware Jeremiah, that there are apparently a few conversions out there of Ford Freestyles done up as Ghostbusters 'Ecto 1's. In fact, on the Facebook group page 'V.I.S.I.T.' (Vehicles I See In Traffic), a guy posted a video of one driving along, and it's a green one, like yours. Unfortunately, I can't link the video here, but here's the link to the group:
