1950 Ford Country Squire

    Trivia: 1950 was the first model year that Ford used the 'Country Squire' name. In '50 though, there was no actual 'Country Squire' nameplate on the wagon. That didn't appear until the '51 model year.

    Also, in '50, Ford had a 'Deluxe' wagon that was basically the same, except it didn't have the wood panels inside the wood rails. You just saw the painted body parts, instead. (It still had the wood rails...)

    I believe the Country Squire name was introduced midway through the 1950 model year, perhaps coinciding with the introduction of the fold down (rather than removable) second seat. You're correct that the nameplate wasn't applied until 1951.
