Growing up I had always wanted an El Camino and I have owned a 65 for 10 years now. Well after getting married, two dogs, and now an expanding family, the El Camino was no longer going to fit my classic car needs. I wanted something to be able to take everyone to the state park, beach, trips etc. Dogs included. I envisioned parents in the front, kids in the middle, and dogs in the back. I then set out in search of a wagon. I had wanted a GM wagon, but the price of them was far out of my budget. I came across this family cruiser and it fit all of my needs. Within the wives budget. Minimal Rust. Roof Rack. And a nice interior, but not so nice that if a happy meal was spilled by the kids I would get upset. I have come to learn that wagons are a beast of their own! Here is my 1970 Mercury Colony Park with a 429.

Welcome to the Station Wagon Forum, 'Cooz. That Colony Park will make an excellent family trip wagon. Can tow some stuff too, with that 429. I'm thinkin' about a 17' runabout, or maybe a couple of jet skis........

What a great car, and a vinyl roof! We had a creme colored ‘70 like yours, including the saddle interior. No vinyl, but it was a great car.

Welcome aboard cooz. That is a nice looking wagon you got there. After reading your description of what you were wanting I think this will fill the bill perfectly.

    Welcome to the forum
Have owned 2 Colony Parks, 89 new in 89; and a 85 that I got in 2016 which I sold. For a Short while when we moved out of NYC to Conn my mom got a 60's Colony Park (don't remember year) we then moved back to NYC.
