In Chicago that glue on body side molding was usually gone by 1978, and the rust was well on its way. Especially if you had the 2 door coupe with that big opera window the molding was shrinking loose, and the vinyl top was already bubbling. It’s nice to see one of these that complete.
Yeah, this is a nice original car. I hope it doesn't get derbied at that price. Where I visit my friend in PA, there's a guy down the street a little has a Caprice Classic sedan original like this, but just a lighter color, but just as nice. I didn't really care for them, but now that they are old cars, I find them interesting.
So many cars that used to be common place back in the day are rarely seen now - just like this Impala. And, yes, much more interesting now.
Duh! I just realized this car is a slicktop. I guess my mind wanted me to see that it had a vinyl top. Sure does look pretty good.
