Funny copy-writer mistake - 'Power rear-view mirror on driver's door......." I'm guessing the copy writer is young and had never seen a cable-operated remote mirror control. Sees the little lever and assumes it's got an electric motor in the door...... Which begs the question: When did the first ELECTRIC rear-view mirror come out?
Neat car - good color too! Is that dark blue factory? Looks original and it'd be a stunner repainted in that hue. I'm partial to 60s Mercs myself. had a bunch. Currently have a 65, 67 and 69. Awe man - let's see some more pix!
That 65 Montclair is just beautiful but it has the plainest looking dash I believe I have ever seen in a Merc.
Cadillac specifically lists the option for the Eldorado in 1979, before that it was a cable operated one. Lincoln I believe was around 1981-1982 or so. There may have been more obscure or different models that did it earlier, but those 2 are the big luxury cars that always introduced gadgets and trinkets The twilight sentinel auto-dimmer for the mirror on the windshield I remember being optional on the Mark VII starting in like 1984 or 1985. Cadillac I don't believe had that as late as 1989.
