Those aluminum wheels look great on it, but interior pics definitely needed. 1978 Ford Country Squire | eBay
That’s funny it wound up in Washington. I had thought the winning bid had come from a woman in Florida that bought it to use with her kids. Bet it doesn’t hit $45 this time around.
5k-Mile 1978 Ford LTD Country Squire for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $45,000 on March 23, 2020 (Lot #29,308) | Bring a Trailer here it is. yep $45k
5,000 miles in March 2020 when it sold. Buyer did say they were in Boca Raton Fl and would be using it to go to soccer games with the kids. Now in Washington and still at 5000 miles 13 mo. later.
Also read the Marti report didn’t see any mention of the deep dish wheels. Think they were a latter addition, not that it’s a bad thing, they look great but it gives pause to when they switched over. Probably seller wanted to “jazz” it up a bit. Lovely car no doubt, agree with all the comments above, $45 k. Hmmmm.
The deep-dish aluminum wheels were optional on the sedans but were not available on wagons because...the sedans (and these wheels) had 6-inch wide wheels. The wagons were equipped with 6.5 inch wide wheels, so you are correct in that they were probably added by the dealer or someone else. 45k? Not unless you had to have green. 351M + 2.50 rear = sluggish acceleration at best.
This was a Pennsylvania car so it’s not like a 400 or 460 wasn’t available. I know the 460’s were starting to get scarce but the 351 isn’t any power plant to write home about. You would think that would deduct the value.
Yeah. And there isn’t any mention. Usually you can see what they go for. Bet the seller yanked it knowing he wasn’t gonna get his $$$. I would almost be willing to wager this car may make a guest appearance back on BAT.
