Voila! The Sugar Skull. I just finished it. Now hopefully I can get my boys over next weekend to help me put the rear end in the wagon.

Very impressive Timmayy. That's a very unique addition to the car. I hope your wife likes it as much as we do.

It's been awhile but I have a lot done. The rear axle is in, all new rear suspension and swaybar. I found some NOS parking brake cables. Got that hooked up. Sent the driveshaft to the shop to get rebuilt and balanced. Thought it was going to be easy putting it back together only to find out the U-joint is the wrong size. Took measurements and will bring it back to the machine shop next week. I thought it was finally going to come of the jack stands after 2 years. No such luck.

Okayyyyyy.......... Rear axle all back together. Found some NOS E-brake cables, driveshaft all good. Off the jack stands. Changed the oil and filter, fresh gas and it's running and moving around the yard. Brakes are not that great. Going to change out the single pot master cylinder for a dual for safety.

Got a new rubber floor mat. Since wifey wants it for the beach it's easier to clean than carpet.

Not going to put the rear seat in yet. I have to weld in new floors. Wifey just wants to drive to the beach and back so no need for it yet.

If the brakes feel that way, I'm guessing it's four-wheel drums. They all felt that way. It'll be good, from a safety standpoint, to have a dual-pot, but the brakes will still feel the same. Go ahead and adjust down the rear brakes first, then test drive. If the front end pulls on braking, the opposite brake from the pull needs adjustment. Then retest. You should be able to spin each front wheel with slight drag through the entire rotation, a steady dragging sound, but never be so close that you can't spin it by hand. You should also inspect the front bearings and clean/repack if the grease is excessively dirty.

Always feels good to get them off the jackstands and moving under their own power. Good call on the dual pot master cylinder. I did mine a year or so ago. Just added piece of mind when we're traveling down the road with the family aboard.

What dual master cylinder did you use? I just want to get a straight bolt in. Thanks.

I just received the pre-bent lines and block in the mail yesterday.

Well, I also upgraded to disc brakes at the same time. It was all part of a kit. I can get you the info off of the booster though. You could probably get it by itself.
