Hi all, on my third 96’ Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. Many 60’s /70’s trips from Fla. to Maine as a youngster in many various wagons; always Rockin’ that third seat! This one may turn into a hot custom-street-something down the road, going to put a few more miles on the existing 62,000 first tho before I get crazy. Let’s be honest, a 3.73 geared Roadmaster Wagon with that (detuned or not!) Vette’ engine is already just too much fun smoking the embarrassed youngsters in their sewing machine Ricers, .
Welcome to the forum Becket! Sounds like you have a lot of memories and stories involving longroofs. We'd love to hear some of them! Pictures are optional but we LOVE pictures around here also! Again welcome and hope you enjoy your stay!....Longroofs Rule!
One of my old 60’s triumph Street tracker builds dreaming of the next adventures after being shepherded home by the current Roadmaster...
Just run around on the street nowadays; raced dirt/motocross from 71’ to around 78’ and rode the street as a hobby most of my life. Stayed outta the Patch’s troubles; but it was around, lol! I like my wagons giant seats and room in my older ‘old cranky joints’ times. Used to get called old grandpa etc for driving wagons but now they are cool, go figure. Now everyone just wants to buy it off me! Ha, last laugh and all that!
Yeah right between Daytona and Jax; both top FL. Outlaws Clubhouses. No worries, just show respect and don’t stick ur nose in their buiz and all’s good. In the 90’s seems like half the ‘Bikers’ around were weekend Dr. and other $$$ white collars that put 10 miles on their new Harley’s with matching leathers and do-rags and practiced scowling in the mirror. It’s another world now; but at least the wagons are finally getting their due. Kids finally realizing prom night is MUCH more comfy in a 9-seater with fold-downs haha. Hey, I could sub-let my car out on such special occasions, hmmmm hahaha .
If you sub-let the wagon you can subsidize your expenditures on your bike projects!?....Longroofs Rule!
Welcome aboard Becket. Hope you enjoy your great white whale for many miles. Good luck with Hurricane season.
Welcome, Of course if you do sub let for prom night just make sure the dash cam is pointed in the right direction.
Welcome Becket to the group. We spent 22 years in the boonies of NW Florida tween Gainesville and Cedar Key. A nice walk from the Suwannee River. My avatar is near where we lived. Very familiar with biker clubs, biker bars, and biker events. My wife made me go. We sold our bike before moving down there. Come on in and have a seat. You're better off here than across the street. Or Welcome, Home of cold beer and Killer Women. And who can forget The Cabbage Patch! Miss the car and bike events all over the south. But some people get old and need kids to take care of them. Have fun in the Florida sun.
Man you just dropped the secret words, you’ve btdt! Life and priorities, yup heard that;, but still there sure is a bunch of cool life-easing stuff around nowadays regardless of past good, but little pita things we old guys forget. Sure is easier to stay in touch when things go south, and Makes getting parts and such mind boggling easy. Or finding every longroof for sale in the entire country, . That alone will save our cars for the next batch of enthusiasts . Before too long there will only be electric made running the roads, Shudder...
