Sweeeet deal Hoosier. Great idea with the Dad/Son project. I did the same think way back when with my son and now at 22 and a student, he makes his college money off the books as a handyman. And damn good too. Better than me. I'm glad somebody saved this. It's a good story, 43 years off the road....you'll have to keep us posted on it's progress. I dig stories like this and Youtube vids where someone takes a car that's been sitting for years and gets it going under it's own power..

Best of luck to you and yours on this project.

Congrats on the buy. You will have your hands full, but as Moparandfomoco said, what a great project you and your son!

Yep, and what he learns over the next 4-6 years (providing it's hands on)will set him up for the rest of his life. Once he has that automotive knowledge and he's not afraid to use his hands, it's not a far jump to fix things around the house like plumbing, electrical, etc. It is nice not to pay a handyman/electrician, etc. when you can do it yourself.

It's starts now and Hoosier is on the right track. It warms my heart to see stories like this!

That's awesome, HoosierWagon! Hopefully it will be a great dad/son project.

Consider starting a build thread here to document your progress. And welcome to the forums!

I'm going to try to get some pics this weekend and do an official "New Member" post. Our weather hasn't been too cooperative.
