I had an ‘88 Tempo salt sled when I lived in Chicago. It had an automatic seat belt slide. Hated that damn thing especially when you were in a bulky coat

Yeah every one I was in the seat belt was detached and just the clip would move up by it’s self. The future is choking me!!!!

Yep - The TSi was a 1986-1989 version and was turbo and intercooled.

Oh yeah, those stupid belts. It never failed that I would start to get out of the car too soon and that damn thing would wrap around my neck and try to choke me.

EE699240-5F0F-4371-BEFD-052F6732CFC9.jpeg Pontiac had one too right?! Remember the dashboard on these things?! Did being that long have a function? That has to be a record for longest dash. My uncle had one of these. My cousin once threw a rock at my head. I ducked just in time and the rock went through the back window. The way he remembers it is that I was more than happy to immediately storm into grandma’s kitchen and announce his guilt :biglaugh:I don’t remember that part

Man, those things used to be everywhere! There was an Oldsmobile version too! I think the later versions looked better.
But even then they looked... out of place.

The Dustbusters. John Travolta drove the Olds version in the movie "Get Shorty". Do not remember what my wife told me to do 5 minutes ago but I remember a car I saw in a movie 25 years ago. Time for a gin and tonic.

Oh yeah, they were the kind of car that if you drove one, everyone knew it and it was obvious. No blending in. We looked at them when they were new and my dad just couldn't stop laughing about how long the dash was. He asked the salesman what happens if you put something on the dash and it went all the way to the front. The salesman kind of hemmed and hawed and my dad says "it becomes part of the car?" and he just sighed and said yeah it kind of did. My sister and I thought that was hysterical and still laugh about it.

I remember a reviewer tossing his sunglasses down there from the passenger seat, and he barely could reach them when he leaned forward.

There's one of these parked on a main road, along the Rhein River, on the Swiss side:

If I was your Uncle, I would have given you these on your next birthday, for the bricks and larger rocks your cousin decides to grab hold of. In which case, the shares held by rear glass investors should devalue considerably:

They probably could have stayed in business, had they have put it into production
