My first car was a 1974 Opel sport wagon with the sunburst copper paint. Looking to find one if anybody has a lead!

    Nice to meet you Bendsnarrowly.
I don't have any info on Opel station wagons, but this is a good place to start. I hope you find what you're looking for and once you do, stick around. We're not so bad once you get to know us.

    Haven't found anything....
Couple links for you to check out, though. First is 'German car For Sale' blog, where one MIGHT show up from time to time - something to monitor. The second is Auto Tempest. GREAT way to do a bunch of searching on a lot of platforms, very quickly. I just covered every Craig's List in the continental U.S. in 5 minutes. There were 2 Opel 1900 2-door sedans for sale (same nose as the 1900 Sport Wagon), but alas, no Sport Wagon. Good Luck with your searching.....

First, welcome to the forum. We had a '72 Opel 1900 coupe in the family my Pop bought new. It was white with red interior, 4 speed. My first car was a '69 GT with the rare 1.1L engine so I like Opels even to this day. I'd love to have another 1900(Manta) coupe and drop a late model Toyota engine and 5 speed in it.

I loved the styling of those 1900 Sport Wagons when they came out - a very modern-appearing design for the time. I did like the (different) Manta nose better though, and wondered why Opel didn't put that on the Sport Wagon. I know there have been at least a couple transformations by some owners......

That looks really cool! Yeah, it just comes down to missed opportunities because of unwillingness to take chances.
