Love the simple lines of this 2 door. Remember back in the day seeing these 210 series Chevys being run to near death as work trucks before they were passed on to some High School kid for "The Band". How any survived is amazing. IMO would look better with cream color painted steel wheels and dog dish caps.
Man, I love it too! I really like the wheel and tire choice, but I think that what you suggested AnnaP would look fantastic too. Now I have a question. I spent much of my early teenage years infatuated with tri-five chivies. I looked at every picture I could find, read every book article, etc. I know these things inside and out, down to the smallest detail. Or so I thought. What is the deal with the side trim? It doesn't have the kick up portion that goes behind the door that separates the color. I have seen this look before, but always on customs. Was this an available option for 1956? Or is this just another custom piece installed on a car that is presenting itself as "mostly stock"?
This page of the '56 brochure shows the trim on each model. What it doesn't show however, is how all the 14 (!) two-tone options were laid out.... http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/chevy/1956cv/bilder/6.jpg
Thanks Marshall. I was pretty certain that was the case. But sometimes things like this come up and I think to myself "is that some rare option I was unaware of?" I do feel much better, now I can stop second guessing myself.
Times sure have changed. In 1972, I paid $125 for my '56 Nomad. Although no Engine or Trans, it was in good driver condition with recent paint.
