    Only the USA imports got the super beetle taillights. These where made from 69- to around 80 but only imported to the states in 73-74. Everyone else got the 68-71 Bus taillights . Hate those big ones , the uppers are 58-61 bus , the backups area actually are my turn signal's just put a amber bulb in there , they are 68-71 bus. I have some small led, s under the bumper for backups. We plugged the hole with a nice metal patch.

    I did not know that! Even the two books that were about the Type 1, never went into much detail about the Thing, other than when they were sold in the U.S., and that they shared no parts with the WW II Kübelwagen.

    And National Lampoon magazine got sued so fast, by both Kennedy and by the Kopechne family, it wasn't even funny....
