I just came across an article on MSN talking about vehicles in wrecking yards. One of the rigs they showed was an X-90. They said:

    Suzuki X-90

Suzuki transformed an SUV into a coupe before any of Germany’s luxury brands. Envisioned as a replacement for the Samurai, the X-90 was a more stylish evolution of the Vitara with a removable targa top and a two-seater cabin. It wasn’t practical, it wasn’t sporty, and it wasn’t any better off-road than the model it was based on so sales remained low.

Fewer than 8000 units were sold in the United States between 1996 and 1998. Its claim to fame is being selected by Red Bull as its promotional vehicle.

I had to chuckle when I read that.

Naturally the Mercury is missing a wheel cover. Those clips were the worst design.

Are you sure it was the clips? I suspect that suspicious-looking family who's suspiciously gathering around that Merc did it. Those poor cars seemed to have ended up on their stolen wheelcover peddling racket turf

When was the last time you saw a '85 - '87 Mitsubishi Galant?
In 1986, expecting a baby to come along (through adoption) any day, we traded in our 1985 Nissan 300ZX Turbo on a new '86 Mitsubishi Galant. It came equipped with pretty much everything (except leather) - full power, moon roof, adjustable suspension, an amazing sound system, and it handled beautifully. Absolutely LOVED the car. But then, when the first baby DID arrive in May 1988, we needed a minivan.....so bye bye Galant.

Ours looked exactly like this, except for the color - ours was silver, with a grey interior.

Didn't those at least have a cooling fan for stop and go traffic?
Great styling. Mitsubishis were known for being thirsty, though. That's probably why we've hardly ever seen these in Europe. My sister had the Colt. It also handled well and was surprisingly comfortable for a Jap car of that era
