Not even 1/3rd that....at most, a $10K car. They likely got it for a few thou, spent a couple thou rehabbing it, and miraculously came up with the $34K price, straight outta the boss' rabbit hole.
This is that dealer in Michigan that prices it’s cars about 3 to 4 times the going rate for a #1 condition car any where else. He’s either a hobbiest, a collector that just tries to push the envelope, looking for that sucker or a front for money laundering. His cars are always in the atmosphere.
Instead of a red X, all we now get is just a long blanc page Not so loud . Money launderers over here are busy buying up real estate and renting out betting joints. If they catch wind on these cars of his, that'll be the end of reasonable used classic prices everywhere
And red cloth bench seat. Yeah it’s a good looking car, but not unique in any stretch of the imagination. This same guy has a ‘70 for $43 k and an ‘88 SS for $33 large. Those two Monte Carlos seem overpriced too.
Look again. While it's missing the compressor, it was factory AC equipped. Originally a white vinyl top, no duals (they weren't available in 1975), etc. Lots of wrong stuff for an "original" car.
B-rad - quick question....I'm not much of a Chevy guy, so I don't know, but does that mean, that in '75, if you ordered a final year 454, you couldn't get a Monte (or Malibu for that matter) with dual exhausts?
You are correct, you could get the dual exhaust but only on the 454 and even then it was an option. The high cost of the catalytic converters changed the way GM allowed them on cars and thus the availability of dual exhaust.
IMO the asking price for this no a/c, unoriginal, middle of the road Chevy is just insane. But maybe that describes the buyer they are looking for. After all, they only need to find just one in this whole wide world. I see an OK $8K ride for the local sit around and socialize events.
We have a dealer near us that may be similar. They work with some on consignment. put a high price on the car, if it sells it sells, if not seller had a conditioned space to store over the winter. http://www.ecoastcc.com/
