Yes, but most of the Hollyweird stunt cars are base models done up to look like 'more expensive' models, like these two Plymouths, which likely were in "Christine."

Growing up in Philadelphia, one would drive past the auto scrapyard going to the airport. It was a wall of crushed cars going up 25 cars high. It was impressive as well as sad to see them in that state. My mother had said "it was a symbol of our throw-away society." At least they were being chopped up and hopefully turned into something else (no had heard of "recycle" back then). The last time I was at the airport it was long gone, or I believe it is. The roads may have rerouted away from the yard, or the airport subsumed it.

This photo was taken in 1971 at a former scrap yard located in Emeryville, CA, just west of a Sherwin Williams paint factory that was located on Sherwin Avenue near the San Fransisco Bay. Emeryville is two miles north of the city of Oakland. The picture contains the paint Company’s well known “Cover the Earth” logo used between the years of 1893 and 2015.

Know it happened 49 years ago but to see what appears to be a rust free 56 chevy wagon thrown away is sad.

Yeah, I agree. There were other photos, but this was the only one with a wagon it it. Most of the vehicles in the photos seemed like they were in pretty good shape before they were pushed into a pile.

Nice metaphor for the current situation in DC.

I swear to God, some people are just so screwed in the head, they would never be satisfied with burning the freaking World to ash.

    That's pretty petty. Sad indeed.
