So I am new to this forum and hoping to get some assistance. My father and I purchased a ‘64 Ford Country Sedan wagon. All original with 40k miles on it that was stored in a windowless garage since ‘68. The story is that the oil pump went on it (which it was bad when we got it) and the owner put it up on blocks in his garage to make the repairs. After draining all the fluids (oil, gas, and brake fluid), the owner passed away before the work was done and his family never touched the car until we pulled it out of the garage 2 years ago. We reassembled the engine with new needed parts, gave it a much needed bath, cleaned the interior which was in really good shape, got it running off an auxiliary fuel tank and found that the gas tank had pin holes and was rotted and weak in spots. We brought the tank to a reputable radiator shop in our area that also specializes in fuel tank repair and after they sand blasted and tried repairing it for 2 months, they through in the towel, ate the cost of time and materials invested, and said it couldn’t be repaired. We have been trying to find a replacement tank for a while now. We were given a lead to have one made but at the tune of $1500. We have tried junkyards out west, a distributor that specializes in obsolete ford parts in Nebraska, and even Desert Valley Auto Parts with no luck. All of the online auto parts sites only carry gas tanks for the sedans and not the wagons. We are STUCK! I am hoping for some insight or direction if anyone can help!!! Thank you in advance! I know you tried an obsolete Ford parts place in Nebraska, but did you also try Green Sales Company in Ohio? They specialize in all kinds of obsolete NOS Ford parts.

That is a beautiful wagon! I love that shade of blue, with the white roof!

We saw this as well, but this tank is for the sedan model and not the wagon. The sedan has the fuel fill behind the license plate, the wagon has a fuel fill in the quarter panel that is plumbed to the corner of the tank. Stock tank is rectangular with a spare tire notch in the top of it.
