    Hi
I have a 1989 Chevy Caprice Wagon with one carburetor.
My question is: What do you think about SeaFoam injected directly in the carburetor?
    Is that thing works?
    Thank you much

Yes it does. But, it is only meant to clean deposits; if you have carb, ignition or mechanical engine problems, it won't do anything for those. The upside is that if the engine just needs a cleaning, it's a cheap way to do it.

Found this guy on YouTube, and even though he's working with a newer, smaller, fuel injected engine, the principles are the same. The use of the Lucas, or any other high-viscosity 'honey' oil, is completely up to you.

    You're welcome.

BTW, GM has/had a product similar to Seafoam called Top Engine Clean, which was poured directly down the throat of a carb, to do the same as Seafoam. I don't know if they still sell it, but it's something to consider.

Aaaand, I ran into a follow-up vid he made:

AC Delco Top Engine Cleaner. Thank you for mentioning this product. Having a Chevy I find more comfortable to go with a GM product.

I've used Seafoam to clean the pistons in my Snowblower and Lawnmower Tractor. It works good, you just get burn off while the additive goes through a carburetor though so you definitely want to use it in a well ventilated area. Someone might think your car's on fire if you use it, it gives off a lot of smoke from the tailpipe.

As another note, the company makes a product now called Hydra Trans Tune (Formerly Trans Tune) and it's advertised for use in Transmissions and Power Steering Systems. I used it in a Power Steering system in which the fluid turned soot black over 15 - 16 years (it was in a Diesel) and, after using the Trans Tune fluid and removing it, the power steering fluid came out clean.

Ah yes, that's Project Farm (Todd. I don't know his last name.) He makes different videos like "Which Duct Tape Brand is Best" and "What Happens when Sugar Is In Your Gas." Entertaining channel, IMHO.

Finally I tested the Seafoam Spray on my 1989 305 carburetor Caprice Wagon.
The black smoke never came out.
That said that thing works miracle. Suddenly my engine was running smooth and powerful.
I did it a week ago and I drove every day and it is quite something.
it is an amazing product, and next year I will do it again.

Unless your engine was running too rich, you generally won't see much, if any soot that's airborne. But, prop a square of plywood a few inches from the tailpipe, so the exhaust hits it nearly straight on, you'll see a bunch. It's good the car's running better.
