    That is a Cadillac engine. The Oldsmobile 425 had been out of production for 10 years when this car was built.

    They may look similar, but the valve covers give it away as a Caddy engine. And that is a GM corporate blue, which started ending up on many late '70s GM engines, from the 1.8L four-banger on up.

    Correct GM Corporate Blue, used on most GM engines from mid 77 till the mid 1980's

    Yep, my 1977 Corvette was that same 'Ford' blue.
