I’ll trade ya a ride in the ‘65 Park Lane. I’m gonna keep it in Arizona for a little while. It’s all about the parking
Well am spending the weekend working on the ole ‘38. First order of business was a new battery from Mor-Co in Albuquerque. Got the old one out, not a convenient placement. It was akin to wrestling an alligator out Over the edge of a pool. Then putting him back in! But out she popped. Since the car had been sitting in a museum, and sparsely run the next order of business was some sea foam stabilization and 5 gallons of fresh gas. Checked oil (added recommended weight), and after removing the breather tank over the carburetor and covering the carb with my hand the flooded fuel was quickly sucked into the lines and she fired right up. Fortunately it came with the original owners manual. Next job was bulb replacements for the headlights as one was burned out on high beam, and the other on low. Drove it around a couple of miles, and the synchro-mesh is in fine order. Checked and added appropriate fluids. Will sit here for a bit in AZ. Next stop Cocker to replace the 40 year old tires. They still hold air, and are fine at 25mph, but have a bit of the Flinstones feel. Am very pleased so far. Have run it enough that she starts on the first go, through the floor, and pull chocker start on the dash. Will keep you posted. Odometer reads 24,189 miles. The rubber flooring appears to be original and in great shape. Pedals have ridges and no real wear indicated on break, or clutch. also no cracks or grazing on Steering wheel, or shift lever.
Has it been updated to a 12 volt system? You could use a set of Photoshop windshield wipers, in order to wipe the blight seen through the windshield
Nope still 6 volt. I wouldn’t imagine there would be enough volts possible to wipe away the blight in life out there.
Lightning has enough voltage to do it, if it were selective. A tornado could sweep it off of the lot, thereafter
I didn't look past the dash. I don't really care what's beyond the windshield. 6 volts is plenty when everything is clean and working.
That would be great! "MoparandFomoco" can tell you about our Dream Cruise week together. There is plenty to see and do!
Yeah Bill has told me what an absolute blast he had, as well as the great time he spent with you and yours. That really is a fun event. When I lived in Chicago I used to go to the new car show at Cobo, and the Woodward cruise all the time. I had friends in Royal Oak that lived about a mile away. I always thought it would be fun to take a Convertible to that cruise. Sadly my friends moved to Florida this last year. I was able to hit the Cruise last August, but driving in it is still on my bucket list.
