The VIN confirms it's a PI motor, although I wasn't sure this was available in a wagon.

According to the description, it was ordered as a coroner's car, which begs the question: why does a coroner's car need a 429PI motor? Since it was used in Louisiana, was it in case of fast-moving zombies?

I suspect that the CJ-spec aluminum valve covers and chrome air cleaner lid were not part of the PI package.

A true rarity and a curiosity.

 

It is indeed a curiosity. I like Fullsize's idea of customizing it with some fire chief decals. That would fit the car perfectly.

 

Now that's cool. Interesting how it is optioned; clock, driver's remote mirror, side-storage compartment in the cargo area, radio delete. Sleeper, no?

Man-O-day. That’s a lotta money. But there were only a small handful equipped that way. The car really presented well, and you had a seller who knew how to show it, clean it, and get its best angles. There’s a ‘75 Cadillac wagon on EBay now that is an absolute toilet. It’s a bucket, and the interior is shot with a bunch of wires and crap on the front floor, and crapola in the back seat and floors. For $5,000 you can have the pleasure of figuring that rat trap out, oh and cleaning it.
