    This means that the car was always driven at sea level or below.

    I think he means "a very low 14,000 miles"


    This is weird.
    How on earth does this happen? Someone tossing projectiles around inside the car and one of them hit the gauge cover? I would love to know the story behind this.

    Yes, curious question about that gas gauge crack isn't it? On an otherwise showroom condition 40 year old car.

    Heat can do it. I had to replace the gauge cluster screen (I know, OCD) because it cracked one very, very hot Eastern Washington day. I've seen glass that exploded from a lot of heat, but that was the first time I'd seen plastic crack.

    Beautiful car! Maybe the lens cover broke due to an inop fuel gauge the owner thought may have been a stuck needle and struck the gauge? Or maybe the owner struck it out of frustration over how quick the gauge needle drops from "F" to "E"?
