Especially, when the seats need a good scrubbing. Quite creative paint concept, though. Despite that, if the Henry Ford Museum won't pay out that amount of money for it, nobody in their right mind would either
I asked you how much you want for it... not how much you got ripped off restoring it. When I was working we had one of these come into the shop from time to time. It was just as clean. It was baby blue and white. It looked nice but was a pain to drive. If I’m going to shifting gears that much I want to be going a little faster that 30 mph. Also it’s a truck! It wants to be off road somewhere camping and getting muddy not cruising the strip with greasy tires. For 47,000 I’d ask where the other one is since I’m paying for 2. And does the other one at least have 4wd?!
If he truly did a frame off that's easily how much he has invested in it. I don't know whether it's worth it or not, but when was the last time you saw one of these this nice? One thing is for sure though, if you buy this you better LOVE yellow... Personally this era of Bronco looked really... old... by 1973 standards.
Yeah, there's a story about the Bronco, if you don't already know about it. Ford was set to introduce the full-sized U150 Bronco to replace this U85 Bronco in '73 for the '74 MY. However, before they could begin to prepare for production, the 1973 gas crisis hit, so Ford shelved it, and opted to run this design another 4 years. It's why, by the time the last U85 rolled off the assembly line in '77, they were loaded with standard goodies in order to make them more attractive to buy.
This is a nice little Bronco. I have always been more into the 78/79 "Big Body" Broncos, but my Father-in-law has two first gen so I have really grown to appreciate them. They certainly are iconic. I'm surprised the one posted above doesn't have a dash pad. This rig has 4wd
Correct. Column shifted automatic with the 4X4 shifter on the floor. I may be incorrect, (Andrew, chime in here if you would like) but I believe all Broncos left the factory as 4WD. On a side note I surfed the ol Craigslist at lunch today and found a plethora of nice first gen Broncos for sale with asking prices at half of what this one is listed for. It's certainly a nice example of a first gen Bronco, but I don't think it's worth what the seller is asking for. Just my opinion.
If anyone thinks this is a reasonable price come on over to my house. I got a bunch of cars I’ll onload on ya for a “reasonable “ price
