I would love assistance or advice on finding pieces and parts for the interior of my 78 Ford LTD Station Wagon. Number one on my list is my glove box. Where are you guys finding parts?

It's hard to find parts for our old cars. Junkyards no longer carry old cars, for the most part. Every once in a while you can find something at the Pull a Part. For something like a glove box, you can also be on the lookout for 2 door and 4 door sedan Ford LTDs. I'm thinking a Mercury Grand Marquis will also work. I'm also pretty sure that 74 - 78 year model will work. Try this website:

I always search for a windshield when I'm looking for a place that might have a car in stock that will work.

Is your glove box broken? The reason I'm asking is because mine was messed up on my '76 LTD. The plastic tabs that the screws thread into were broken (the ones that go through the metal hinge, into the bottom of the plastic door). I drilled slip holes into the metal hinge, near the existing holes, then drilled a pilot hole in the plastic glove box door. Then just transferred the original screws over to the new holes and threaded them into the plastic. It's not as strong as it should be due to the thin plastic that the screws are now threading into, but it seems to be pretty secure so far. You could always add extra screws as well. But all of this is assuming that you had the same problem as mine.

Yeah, I think back to all the multitudes of just Seventies cars (plenty of wagons...) that were at Pull-a-Part a decade ago, but are just not there anymore. Hell, even as recent as 2010, I remember Seventies cars in stock, but the last Seventies car I've pulled parts from was a year ago, a '78 T-Bird that I got a few things I needed and wanted. Just two weeks ago, a long-time junkyard just went out of business 15 miles from me. Their prices were high, but I bought if I couldn't find what I needed at Pick n Pull lately.

Well you got to think that the cars are nearing 50 years old, they're almost eligible for AARP
There sadly is a limit on how many they made, and have been junked over the last few decades, weather they where wrecked, rusted, or just plain neglected... after all you don't miss the water till the well runs dry. :(
Now you may not consider them rare, or classic, but lets face it ladies and gentlemen our cars are getting kind of hard to find out there.
