I was thinking about getting some different hubcaps for the barge, something in better shape, easy to clean, shine, and use for shows.

This is whats on there now.

This is what I'm thinking of, I've seen ad's for these on '73 Marquis Brougham's (which is what a Colony Park is)

    Should I get them?
Were they ever offered for the Colony Park?
Or should I try to find a nicer set of what's on there now?

What no one has an opinion? come on y'all! should I have made this into a contest and given away prizes? or at least stuck it as a simple vote thread so you didn't have to respond?o_O
I figured it would be simple "stick with what you got find nicer set" or "I like the new ones with the black marquis symbol"
Consider this my shameless thread bump to get attention! :D

Hub caps are a personal thing, just like mags. What makes YOU happy is what matters. IMo just looking at a hub cap is a ???, you have to see it on the car so there is that gamble as you may not like the look....it's really up to you, rite?

I take the mags off my Olds every winter and it seems every winter I pop on a different cap, just for a different look.

I agree with everything Tedy said.
I do personally lean towards the ones you show are listed for sale. But It is hard to tell how they will affect the overall look until you actually put them on the car.
If they are cheap enough, I'd say buy em. If you don't like how they look, you can either hang em on the wall in your garage, or you can try reselling them.

Make them into clocks and sell them for others to hang in their garage!

I like hub caps. I hate wheel covers. You are talking about wheel covers.

Splitting hairs are we not? The term is interchangeable, most people use the word hubcap instead of wheel cover.
Of course next you'll be saying you like nave plates for that modern streamlined look and really show your age.

Like already mentioned, it's a personal preference thing, but I like your existing ones. Cuz they resemble turbine wheels, which I like. However, just like turbine wheels (and something you hinted at), looks like they might be harder to clean than your new choice.

    I agree. Splitting hairs.
I refer to them as hubcaps too.
The things covering the hub, I refer to as center caps.
I think it's like most things in general that are referred to by a name that is incorrect, but is commonly accepted.
As long as I have lived, the full wheel covers have been referred to as hubcaps. Sure, it's technically not correct, but I'm not going to stop calling them that.

Is that what the car manufacturers call them on their option sheets?

You steal hubcaps, you purchase wheel covers.
Stay original if you're seriously going to show the car, otherwise it's modified and you'll be competing against guys with blowers sticking through their hoods. :D
Cragar SS mags would look good.

Well whatever I end up with I'll show it off to you guys, maybe I'll head over to a Hubcap Annie's (I wonder why its not Wheel Cover Annie's) and see what they have.

Keep us posted. By the way, I also like your current hubcaps.
