I wanna see all the old classic Ford LTD Crown Vic's we got in here. Also if ANYONE has pages for specialized parts(I.e-rear differential gearing packages, windshield sealing, hood re-alignments) it'd be very much appreciated!
I dunno about special packages, but I've owned two wagons (one for about two weeks to donate its engine and trans), and my brother and sis-in-law owned a third, all of them '83s. his LTD Country Squire, and my LTD country Wagon and Colony Park. I do have salvaged parts still in storage, if you need something. Here's the link: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...-marq-country-squire-colony-park-parts.30862/ Oh, crap. I forgot to update the thread to reflect the sale of parts to another member. I'll get on that now.
I've had four--an '85,'86,and an '89 white wagon which was the best, even though it was the worst parts hog ever (Gas tank,Oil pan--who ever replaces those?) I like the older larger ones better now. Like, why did they go to a shorter wheelbase than a '56 Ford? And cram all the equipment up into the cowl? And that puny 5.0 Liter with its pathetic 150 hp. Oh,I forgot the last one --the '88 Country Squire with most deluxe options and leaking oil from every pore.
No, he's talking about the '79-and-up "Downsized" full-sized wagons based on the LTD/LTD Crown Victoria and Merc Grand Marquis.
I know where an entire patrol car's for sale. But, you have to go to Germany, to get it. It looks good and the dealer says they have plenty of municipal vehicles available. They want ten € grand, for this one: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s...a-police-chelsea-alabama/1034449198-216-10618
For €10K, there had better be a full file of maintenance records, and all that side crap better be gone.
Aren't those tweaked to police specs, like they used to do to patrol cars of the 60s and 70s? Someone here who was using the front suspension cradle from an ordinary Crown Victoria to attach to his mid 60s wagon was doing so, because supposedly they're good front ends. He had some early 60s Suzuki 360 two-cycle car with a motorcycle engine in it, also. I'll see if I can find the thread. Maintenance records should be available from the city's servicing garage, if the new owner didn't get it with the transaction. I can't imagine that he didn't get it, because it's standard procedure, in Germany
If the car's build label states 'P71' for body type, then yes, it would be a special service package car. And yeah, the '05 (I think) and newer have a removable complete front crossmember/suspension, which pickup truck restorers are using on '60s and before pickups to update them.
Here it is. He was doing a Fairlane Ranch Wagon and then just stopped posting : http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...-1963-fairlane-ranch-wagon.47007/#post-412779
