We decided to do a Crawfish boil today at work since I bought a new burner and haven't used my Crawfish pot in a few years! First batch I had this year, only thing missing was a cold beer but I'm sure management would frown upon that while working. :)

It fed 6 of us and across the parking lot there is a Gun and Pawn shop I buy from, so we invited them over and they also ate and I put probably 4 pounds in fridge...that will get peeled and make omelets for breakfast or make Crawfish fettuccine.

C'mon now! That looks downright delicious! I get crawfish once a year for my brothers birthday, shipped live from your great state. I'd smack my own mama for a few a them mud bugs!

Hmmmmmmm...... can't get any crawfish here but I can get East Coast lobster live, local jumbo prawns, etc, and '''somebody:whistle:''' supplied me with awesome Cajun spices and I happen to have a ............

has me thinking about trying this on the wet coast, just have to wait until corn on the cob starts appearing again in stores. I've modified for several different uses my burner but I don't have 1 key part now that I see T-Man's witch is the strainer pot. I'm pretty sure at work in my hoarding pallet of misc flat sheet metals I have a very large piece of perforated 16ga stainless steel from a long ago project and since I have never seen a strainer pot up here big that would work, I'm gona make one!

If your pot is big enough, the drum out of a dryer works.

This is hurtin me! Now I really really miss the south!
I don't have any of those things but do have a new stainless dryer drum and a black one in the dryer in the basement. Whoever brings me a pot full of those dead crawfish and a few beers can take their pick on dryer tubs. Just don't tell any of our wives!:beerchug:

Not required. There are places in New Orleans that will overnite you all the makings. You just need to boil it up.
I'm waiting for my annual King Cake to arrive via UPS.

The wife is down there now delivering belated birthday gifts to our granddaughter. She had to pay out the wazoo for a motel room. Every place she called was booked solid and she finally ended up with a suite at an extended stay motel. We didn't realize that it's the start of Mardi Gras and also some kind of football game is going on also. She hit the traffic jam coming off I-55 on to I-10 and it took her 2.5 hours to get to the Causeway exit.

prawns are crawdads just salt water right?! Never had prawns. I bet the tails taste similar, I bet the heads aren't as good as a crawdad! Something about that creek mud gives them they're own special twang!
