Chris here, from near Manchester, NH. My current wagon is a 1989 Colony Park in Rose Quartz Metallic with Cinnibar velour. It's a one owner car, sold at Merrimack Lincoln-Mercury in Methuen, MA and spent its life in Lowell. I just bought it in July and it has turned into quite the money pit (don't they all?) but it is such a beautiful car. My grandmother bought a 1989 Country Squire new and drove it until 2003. The Mercury smells just like hers did and brings back fond memories. Hers, of course, had leather because she didn't like the way cloth stuck to her clothing.

I previously owned a 1991 Colony Park that was not in nearly as nice condition, but also didn't seem to require as much attention as the '89. That one was Crystal Blue Metallic with navy leather. It would tow, but was not particularly happy doing it. The '89 seems to have much more power, but doesn't have a trailer hitch.

I also drove a 1986 Chevy Celebrity Estate in college. That was a great little car and always delivered great gas mileage until the floor literally rusted out from under me!

My dream wagon is a 1971 Ford Country Squire. Someday...

Welcome aboard! That is certainly a nice looking wagon. I know old cars can seem to nickel and dime an enthusiast to death, but it's just part of what we do to keep these old cars on the road.
    Good luck, and enjoy it.

Nice intro, thanks. Every hobby costs but I think our hobby is also restoring automotive history.
