Hello Gents, My name is Josh. I live in south eastern PA. I just picked up this sweet '68 Torino Squire. It was sitting for 8 years. I bought it not running and actually got it to run in the guys driveway and pulled it onto the trailer. He seemed a little dumbfounded. In my opinion is really clean, I picked it up for $2500, I thought it was deal! In the past few weeks my friend and I have been wrenching on her. We did a total brake rebuild, rebuilt the carb, tuned her up and she purrs like a kitten. It does have a pretty mean tap..I'm thinking a stuck lifter? we are going to try some Marvel Mystery oil. I have a question on the fiberglass trim....What is the correct color for it? I've seen some pics of guys painting them an almond color....I was thinking about Wimbledon White. What are your guys thoughts? Also, I was trying to figure out a good wheel combination, I'm a fan of 17's maybe 18's...just not sure what would fit. On a side note, I also have a '72 bronco that's a driver and a '71 Torino GT that needs some love. Thanks Guys!!
Welcome! That is a sweet looking Torino. I am sure you will get many smiles per gallon in that one. What engine is in it? Sounds like you have a nice collection of FoMoCo rides. This one will be right at home. I look forward to seeing your progress as you continue bringing it up to snuff.

Welcome Josh! Looks like a nice score. Was it apart for paint, or preparation for paint? In any case, the body looks really nice. I think a nice set of wheels on there would look killer. ..17's or 18's. No shortage of styles and choices.

Awesome score! Great looking Torino. Sounds like you've got a nice little collection of Fords. With that color, I'd think some wheels in gray would look good. Although I realize everyone else is using them, Torq Thrust would be my choice. Keep us updated. Would love to see the finished product.
A little update on the Torino Squire. I fixed the tap in the engine. It seems the rocker arm stud pulled out an 1/8" causing the rocker arm to move to the side and ride the valve spring. I readjusted all the valves while I had the covers off. Kept having an over heating issue, finally pulled the water pump and the inlet was clogged solid. I cleaned all the gunk out and flushed engine, radiator and heater core with a hose. Checked the timing and it was 16* BTDC...not sure what happened there. I put it back to 6*. She's a cruiser now! I put some 15" magnum 500s on her but I'm looking for replacements. I was thinking about the 17" magnums from legendary wheels....they look pretty killer. I borrowed the 15s from my other torino to see how it would look. I had a local exhaust shop hook me up with 2.5" pipes and 40 series flowmasters, it's a mean machine now. I am slowly refinishing the trim, I chose to paint them Wimbledon white, I think it looks decent and it makes the red pop a little. My next project is to replace the control arms, the ball joints are shot......Did I mention that this forum is AWESOME!! I'm sure you all know this ...haha
Man, It never ceases to amaze me, how a set of nice wheels and tires can transform the look of a vehicle. I was just thinking how nice this car would look with a set of magnum 500's on it, and lo and behold here is a photo with those exact wheels mounted up. I like them because they are from the period. Larger may be better, but either way, they look killer. I'm glad to hear you are making progress all the while enjoying this beautiful automobile.
That looks great! If you're looking for something similar to 17" Magnum 500s, check out the wheels on my Montego wagon. Although they have more of a Pontiac look, they were much more affordable (at the time) than most of the other brands out there. They're U.S. Mags Bandit wheels.
