It's been awhile since I have been here. I have been working with a good friend of mine to get my 50 Plymouth 2 dr. wagon finally in paint. We have about 150+ hrs in the car and have been working on it since the first week of last December. We have fixed every little bump and divit in the body and have block sanded for over 2 weeks. the car is laser straight and taht's saying something on a long roof, but it's definitely worth the time spent.
The colors are actually from a 1960 ply. paint chart . the top is going to be Oyster white and bottom is a metallic turquoise.
We are going to finish paint this coming week and I will get those pics as soon as it's done.

And the interior is staying those colors? That palette of colors Chrysler had in the late Fifties/early Sixties had some of the deepest metallic finishes of all the American car builders, IMHO. And that's saying a lot from a Ford guy. Also, how many outer layers are you planning on?

we plan on putting on the colors, then waiting a day and applying about 3 good coats of clear. Then wet sanding with 1000,then 1500, then 2000 and a final buffing out

Yes, but how many layers of color? And if more than one, do you plan to wet sand between each coat?
