Another real beauty........... But with 2600 miles why?--------------Replace Starter, Battery Solenoid, NEW Battery, Evacuate and Recharge A/C System, Replace Old fuses an bulbs, Rebuilt Speedometer, Replace Door Actuators, L/F Window Motor, R/F Window Motor, A/C Freon,
Yes I know it needed a new battery and tires. But why the rest, especially the speedometer which shows the actual mileage?

I'm not sure he's claiming 2600 is original. I think he's just being quite about it and it really has 100260 on it.

Why does it it only have 2580 miles?.... The car was only driven 2580 miles.
The reason all those parts went bad, from sitting around and not being worked. It it will probably need some more attention as it's driven.
The car is clean, no wear, no woodgrain damage at all, wheels are like new.
I see no reason in the pics not to believe the mileage is correct at all.

EXACTLY what I thought! 102,000 actual miles LOL. OR 2000 since rebuild?
You don't need all that stuff replaced unless it's worn out!

I can make just about ANY set of aluminum wheels look like new. It's called acid wash they use it on Semi truck trailers/beds all the time. The trim has wear around the woodgrain, WHY? it is claimed to have been inside stored in it's early life. NO pics of gas/brake pedals, or direct drivers carpet and better of the steering wheel. The interiors in these cars were kick azz and held up VERY, VERY WELL!

Type the VIN into the CARFAX or similar service. Many states require odo readings at sale of the vehicle and/or tag renewal, plus dealer services rendered show the miles at service time. It's NOT hard to verify mileage on a 1981-newer car or truck.

I could see replacing rubber parts for lack of use. The air conditioning recharge is not a surprise. Battery, tires, fluids, filters - all that would simply be prudent. Electrical issues develop for the same reasons. It would depend a LOT on how the car was stored away.

It never ceases to amaze me that you guys can not conceive the possibility of a TRUE low-mileage car! Everything to some of you has 100K miles or more, period.

Simply because the first owner could of driven it to over 100,000 miles kept it SUPER NICE and sold it as a 6000 mi car. Now IF that state had inspections like PA does every year it is logged for miles. In Ohio however they don't get inspected(some do but not often) and have NO record of miles. So Unless it was sold many times in the same state or actual miles kept up at reg time TRYTHFULLY how do you know? That's why we question.

Let's just watch if it reappears. It could be as advertised.

I hope we DON'T see another ad for it. That would mean it went so someone (for $15.1k) with a real love for this classic station wagon. This is also sure to be a very sought-after collector vehicle some day (if not already), as the last year for the famous Ford Country Squire.
