I, like many of you have tried to get replacement seat belts for our wagon. My 64 Country Squire has a unique end attachment to hook up to a "ring" threaded in to the floor. I have my old belts but the material is shot. When I ask the seat belt manufacturer if he can use my hardware on his belt, his reply is no because of legal issues. Legal issues you ask? Yes, they don't want to be legally responsible for the OEM hardware that might not meet today's seatbelt Safety Code. WOW So what is the answer?
learn to sew? just kidding , some of the larger swap meets have guys who do custom tow straps maybe they can help with hardware or sewing. anotherwise chevk juliano's i think it is, they have universal kits
From all of the laws I hear about I believe our great government is helping us to scrap our old cars after they become useless and dangerous according to them.
I guess the key might be to find a local shop with commercial equipment for sewing that aren't selling these things and could care less about government regulations. Universal ends won't help because they won't fit on to the metal floor mounted eye.
