Hi all! Name is Rusty and I recently acquired a 1980 Mercury Bobcat Wagon. It is in great, original condition. It currently has the original 2.3L and C3 automatic transmission, red bucket seat interior, no A/C and radio delete. While we are currently enjoying it in its stock form, this winter the car will go through a sneaky transformation. While keeping the interior and exterior of the car as close to stock at possible, I will be performing a 2.0L Ecoboost and 4r75w driveline swap! You can follow along on my Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=917953094951393 Thanks for the welcome! -Rusty
Welcome from Florida. That looks like a new wagon. Great shape and great ideas to make it fun. Appears you have the perfect place to play with it.
Thanks! Yep, our toy shop is pretty sweet! Thanks! Once I saw it and noticed the impeccable shape it was in, it had to come home!
GREAT project! Such a beautifully kept example is well worth the upgrade. Will be watching with interest.
Hello and welcome to SWF. Your little Bobcat looks amazing. Congratulations! I would like to say that we have a few Griswold Vista Cruisers around here but I think this is the first of the next generation. Welcome aboard Rusty.
Thanks! Yes, it is very clean. The carpet is stained from some old floor mats. Im going to try and shampoo it, but worst case is I will get new carpet. The driver's seat has some wearing on the patterned vinyl, but SMS already sent me some samples of the exact replacement, so I will be doing some vinyl seat repair. You can barely see the wear in this photo:
