Hey guys, Last weekend here in Melbourne was the Victorian State Wagon titles. It was a great show, probably 100 or so wagons from 50's-10's, US, Australia, Europe and Asia and probably elsewhere. Melbourne weather (notoriously fickle) turned on quite a good day, and lots of family fun had by all. I took quite a few pics, and will post them as soon as I get around to hosting or shrinking them down to size. There were heaps of amateur and professional photog's there, and if any one is interested, search facebook for Victorian State wagon titles (there are 2 groups, one event page with lots of posts both prior and post show, and 1 closed group (which I'm pretty sure you could join) with hundreds, perhaps a thousand pics by anyone on the day). Well worth a look. Also, if you are interested, search facey again for these pages to see whats happening in (mainly Victoria) with all things chrome bumper/fender. Not all wagon specific, but still worth a look Melbourne Longroofs AC Photography - Cheers to Adam who shot pretty much every wagon that rolled in, and is the purveyor of my pic below No Fear Photography. (Between AC and No Fear alone there are 550 pics!!) Australian Car Events Phatt Photography Cheers all
Nice pics of your 66 its looking good and if time permits I will have a look at fb Thanks for sharing
Those are some nice looking wagons! My first car had metal venitian blinds in the back window. I'd seen a few others back in the 50's-60's. Never saw a wagon with blinds and never a late model vehicle with a windshield visor!
Strangely, both blinds (in wagons) and visors(cars and wagons) are kind of common in Aus, certainly 60-70's, less so since then. The light blue wagon in the first set is early 70's, dark blue 60's Light blue in 2nd set is (possibly) late 50's and the teal coloured one is mid 60's or there abouts. In the 3rd set, the first light blue one is 60's, the white one and next 2 blue ones are 70's. Sorry cant be more specific on years
Better than I can do. I used to know every car from a distance. With all the modern cars out I can't remember the older ones. I put aluminum venetion blinds in my 1949 Dodge Coronet. I don't remember many others having them. Visors were only on the cars up to maybe late 50's here. But could have been on the west coast later. I like the visors. I wanted a visor for my 1948 Chevy panel truck that I customized but never found a good one.
Never ever saw those. Handy on loose gravel and rock roads. Since I dated a lot and we went to the drive-inn movies I added screens to the insides of the rear side windows.
