This IS NOT your Momma's grocery wagon, but I'll bet its a BLAST to drive! http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/5181773745.html
That gives me some ideas for this wagon, if you bought it right:2_thumbs_up_-_anima http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37712
I remember when those came out in a car. I thought they were so ugly. A coworker had a sedan. Now I like this one. Not something I would drive. But I'll bet it gets to the grocery store quick.
It seems odd the valve covers have a 413 sticker on them, but the ad says 440. Wonder if it is a 413 that is modified?
IIRC, the difference in the 413 and the 440 was both bore and stroke, so having any RB engine under those valve covers is possible. However, I wonder if it has a cross-ram intake:
Max Wedge 413 engines are getting harder and harder to get. That's why most people use a 440 engine for a Max Wedge build.
Ooh, that's the 'other design' intake. Gives the engine longer intake runners. No wonder why Mopar engines were so hard to beat back then.
i think so too..finsrin... but a 2dr sedan with the max wedge always got my juices flowing back when i was a kid too..
Brings back memories of bein 16..... I have a friend that lived up the road from me that bought a 62 Dodge Polara 500 4 dr hardtop with a 361 Magnum, push-button auto. This was 1975, I had a 67 Chevelle 2dr hardtop with 283 hipo at the time (my second 67 in a year). He blew that 361, so we found a 65 Chrysler Newport with 413 cheap, so we did the engine swap. He still has the car, but it ain't been on the road in ALOTTA YEARS! Anyways, the Polara 500 & those Darts looked very similar front & rear with those offset lights. 62 Dodge Polara 500 62 Dodge Dart 440
Externally, the 413 and 440 are identical, other than the pistons. There was no 440 available when this car was built, so he put 413 stickers on the valve covers to make it appear correct. I'd drive this one all day long!
