If it was taken care of properly, mileage isn't a real concern. I've seen crap with 25K miles, and mint cars with 200K. Mileage should never be the only criteria on an older car.
I just sold it in less than 4 hours advertised to the first person with no dickering. I feel like I probably should have asked more for it, but I'm glad it's gone to a good home and I can afford to replace it with another wagon. Cheers, and thanks for sharing my add. Roger Also for the Americans following this I'd like to point out: $3500 cdn, 321k km/150k on the motor is today $2892 usd and 199K miles w/93k miles on the motor
Good for you! Just takes the person looking for one to actually find your car (forums help a lot) and helps if it is the right color in the right location and the right condition. Those not looking for one always have a lower estimate of value since it would take a GREAT deal to get them to buy it. Keep us posted on the replacement, with pics of course!
Here's the replacement, I'm picking it up next Monday, gonna be a long week!! 1996 Roadmaster Estate Limited Collector's Edition w/ tow and touring suspension packages and currently showing 94500Km (58700miles) Ordered new by a Funeral Home with every option including wood panel delete, it was used as a flower car for 9 years. The car was then sold privately to a local senior who used it for 1 or 2 years until he couldn't drive any longer. His son licensed, insured & maintained it for him for sunday drives storing it in the winter until he died. The son continued to do this for his widowed mother. I started looking for one about 8 months ago and came in contact with the son about 4 months ago and expressed interest in the car. They finally decided to sell it and I got first crack at it. The car is located 2.5 hours from me in the neighboring province, so after coming out of storage two weeks ago, I finally got a chance to make the trek up to see it. It took me about 20 minutes to fall in love with it and make them an offer. It was accepted on one condition, I would have to come back the following weekend so they could go for one last good drive. How could I say no! We sat in the sun and then had a lovely chat about bicycles. We shook hands and I'm picking it up in a week. I'm not going to tell you what I paid for it but I will tell you things have worked out pretty well
No kidding. I know this one well, I've heard of some "Never had an oil change" cars that didn't make it to 100k miles; Meanwhile, there are engines going over 500k miles just from being maintained.
