The replacement woodgrain this car sports is not correct/authentic. I looks very much like an inferior quality generic type once sold by a certain mail order car parts house in Chicago. It has a reputation for poor durability.

    Otherwise it looks quite nice.

I'd be more inclined to say this car is worth the asking price, if it had the a quality authentic-looking woodgrain.

    Is it wagon Time?

If everything that is mentioned is fine and it looks as nice in person the price may not be too bad. I'm not familiar with the cheap imitation woodgrain but I am familiar with some of the cheap things JC sells. Still if I kept it in the Illinois garage it might hold up a few years before shrinking and fading. Decisions! It's not even far out of my way when making trips north....... if I ever do.
I'm to the point I know I'm gonna sell my truck after moving. Finally getting the heads redone.
Considered a small fuel efficiant late model car. But I haven't seen any I would like. I hate mini vans, SUV's and look alike computer controlled plastic wrapped cars.
A wagon for everyday use seems like a good idea. I'm just dreaming and confused at this time.:slap:

There's this wagon in Franklin Grove, IL:

Or how about one of these for a late-model, fuel-efficient car. Not exactly a mini van, but lots and lots of space:

The one in northern Illinois seemed to been a good deal for someone. I even liked the "Tedy Green."
For some strange reason I do like that red Ford tall mini van. But red does that to me. Kinda like a little fat gal in a red mini skirt!
    :rofl2:

I owned one of the first ones, newer body style this year. They are pretty stripped down and a bit low on power but great run around vehicle, and really good mileage. Narrow, but tall so you can load it easy and the doors swing past normal stops. I had the nicer one, all windows and rear seat but they can be configured a lot of different ways.

Thanks. I'd need the rear seats to haul our grown son and wife who will be near where we will live. They have no car and use taxi service. I have a feeling I will become their taxi.
I came close to buying a red PT Cruiser panel truck. Didn't because of lack of rear seats.

Here's the new version of the Transit Connect. Available in short and long versions. This is the long one. Looks like they've done away with the tall roof, though.

I'd need a short roof. My new garage door is barely six feet tall. That's also odd but better than no garage at all.
That Transit Connect sure looks a lot like a mini van to me.
I'll bet I could buy three nice older station wagons for what it costs.

With all the different descriptions of what is a station wagon, as time goes by, the love/hate debate of mini vans will be much the same.
Actually the concept and all of the options in many mini vans makes them a good deal for many. I was amazed at all the room in some of the Chrysler mini vans of friends.

If it's a taxi you need, Cat, there's a London LTI taxi for sale in Tampa: :)

    http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/4917699840.html

At $25k, a bit expensive. But I always thought it would be fun to have one of these.

No pics with the ad, but here's a 2004 LTI:

Thanks Jim. Actually I like the much older London cabs. My son pays $10 each way around 4 miles a few times a month. I could leave my meter running and charge him $8.00.
Then I could rent it to my oldest son for his mail route.:rofl2:Just saw the ad. Steering wheel is wrong side for a mail car. What are those English people doing?
