sorry not the gay bar but the national park . thinking maybe take the long way from fla to wisc with a stop at speedway motors, then onto Mt rushmore, from there to the devil's tower , then to the badlands and finally hit the hot rod power tour . so anyone ever been to
    a- badlands
    b- devil's tower
    c- mount rushmore
    worth the detour or not?

If you can afford it, places like that are always worth it. It only took me 42 years to finally go see Grand Coulee Dam, here in my home state. I also took advantage of going to places like Hoover Dam and Vegas, Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, and see the Rutan Voyager around-the-world aircraft in Mojave when I was stationed in San Diego. To do what you're talking about (hopefully in the '59) perpetuates the car vacation as it was envisioned back in the 1920's all the way up to the Interstate Era.

    GO FOR IT!

I did all the above in 1990 for 2weeks and enjoyed it so much I flew the following year to Denver and rented car for 2 weeks and did it all over. Wyoming and South Dakota has alot to see. Hope to take my current wife before we get much older. If you do check out Deadwood SD.

I agree, while you are still young enough and able, go for it. If you put it off till next year then it will be next year or the next one. Then something will come up and it'll be too late.
Just be careful where you park your wagon!

Go ahead and stop at the gay bar too. I know you're wanting to.

You can get comfy when you stop at the motels, hotels, and brothels. Kool is always cool.
The badlands will look even badder from the windshield of a 59 Chebby. Speedy Bill will look down on you and smile as you sit looking kool in his parking lot. The Obama bust on Mt Rushmore will grin in approval.
Bartenders through out Wisconsin will give you beer and brats just for parking out front. The devil himself will look down from his tower saying how kool you are.

That is very similar to a trip I was looking at, except I was going to go from Cincinnati to
    1. Milwaukee
    2. Twin cities,
    3. Devil's tower
    4. Yellowstone park
    5. Glacier national park
    6. Seattle

If you decide to do it, you have to let us know how it is.

Also,if you're going from Fl to Wi, and you need a place to spend the night, come over to Cincinnati (depending on the date). It's not far out of the way, and we can give you a great meal and a nice bed!

Don't forget Wall Drug! A must for anyone traveling out that way. You might see a sign or two.

I'd go see them all again if I could:thumbs2:. I think it was 1974 or 75...was young, almost to young to enjoy it for what is really was/is. but I remember Mt Rushmore, even young the bad lands blew my mind, Yellow Stone park was a "WOW" also ...old faithfull, a lot of good memories, I wish I could go there again..The cave tours, I still remember a lot. Anyone remeber the bumper stickers "Where the heck is Wall Drug'"? If you are there, DO IT!:thumbs2:
