I'm pretty sure that the upholstery on the front seat is NOT original.

    This is a super-nice looking wagon! :thumbs2:

Although ... 44 years old and only 35k miles? Never driven in a Minnesota winter? But I would be willing to believe it if it was as nice in person as it looks in the few pictures that we see here.

They must have slid across the front seat a lot to wear it out in only 35,000 miles.

Looks like both seats are covered with the same material. May be snug fitting covers? I sent seller an email, no response yet.

Wasn't there a discussion about Navajo-style seat covers being offered by Ford as an option during the '60s or '70s, for either the Ford Torino or Country Squire?

I believe it was KK who pointed out that this was a factory-orderable option.

I'm unable to find the thread where this was mentioned.

That sounds vaguely familiar. It does look like the front and back seats both have the same upholstery. If somebody was going to do a cheap recover they might not have bothered with the back seat.

Owner says he has no more pictures  and the seats were recovered by the previous owner. Waiting for response to a few more questions before making the road trip to check it out. Any thing in particular to watch for on these?

Ask for documentation on the mileage. A Wagon with 35K should not need new seat covers, Check for carpet and gas/brake pedal wear, it should be minimal. Not new and not shot. I would also check out the frame and floors for rust. Good luck with your purchase!

Way2Old, did you ever get any more info on this car? Worth a trip?

If it's still for sale this summer I might be tempted to go see the car when I'm in Michigan's UP.
