Not sure where he is getting his info from, but I'm pretty sure they used that body style up through '78. Or maybe he is referring to the Imperial name. Or maybe it is a Canadian thing. Nice car either way.
she's a 40 footer, whenever I see rubberised rocker guard on a car, I wonder what they are hidding. That price is for an all original low mile survivor or a concourse restoration, not for a bondo bucket with rocker guard on it's lower panels.
Sask. is full of dirt roads rock guard may be a good idea still looks straight, has snow tires on it thats not a good sign
This was the generation of Imperial that was never supposed to be. The New Yorker was to be the top line car, hut when the powers that be saw that front end header, they did a rush job to bring the Imperial to market. Because of that, this is the only generation of Imperial on the standard Chrysler wheel base. There was no time to design, engineer, and crash test the longer front subframe and clip that was normal for Imperial to have a longer wheelbase. Interesting that when the Imperial name was dropped, sales of the car increased significantly. It seems the impediment to sales was the name Imperial, not anything specific to the car itself. All in all, a rare car, and a beauty at that.
A big price drop along with a more luxurious New Yorker are what brought the higher sales of that body after 1975. Standard equipment was reduced to get the price several thousand dollars lower for the 1976 model.
