I have selected a GM color Graystone Metalic for the body color on my 66 Malibu 2dr Nomad conversion build. Some of this color will also be inside on the dash and above the interior side panels.

The plan is to have a Red interior. My concern is how much Red do I want? The seats and door panels and possibly the headliner will definitely be Red. I am not sure if I want the carpet to also be Red or if I should go with Gray.
The shade of Red will probably be similar to what was available in 66. This could also help keep the cost reasonable since some premade stock panels could be used.
I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions from anyone who had a Red interior.

I like the headliner to be white with the red interior. But in your case matching grey would look great.
For carpet I love red but break things up using black.
Pwrsonally I like everything red, even the tires. ;)

Maybe find a way to put some gray inserts in the door panels. Also gray carpet would look good and not show dirt as much as red. I am also in the process of designing a custom interior on my 65 Ford Country Squire. I am also going with red as the primary interior color. I have decided on some black accents on the upper door panels and I am debating black or red carpet. ZI will probably go with red because I have put black carpet in almost every car I have built and I am tired of it. I am considering a black headliner but will probably end up with red. The dash I am installing from a 64 Tbird has a black insert on the top of the dash already so I will probably redo that in black and the rest of the dash in red. You definitely want some kind of accent color and not ALL red in my opinion it has no contrast and won't POP and be boring in a sea of red.

This is what the color scheme for my Colony Park is.
There is some recessed silver piping in the door panels.

Thanks guys. I agree with adding another color. The metal above the side panels and the dash will be the outside Gray body color so I will probably go with a Gray carpet and if I do not use any premade interior panels I may have some Gray incorporated into the panel and seat design.
