    The Pontiac would be more dangerous, in a fire, because of all that 300 pounds of carpet and insulation, considering the Hydramatic and Pontiac block iron make up the other 100 pounds.
    What Hemmings dare not do is to test both vehicles with matching displacements of which I'll bet the Impala would leave the Pontiac in the rear view mirror, even when coupled to a Powerglide

    Biggest Chevy engine was a 348, maybe 3 dueces. I would bet on the Pontiac.
