Sorry if this is inappropriate, but I'm trying to help a friend of a friend. My ex let me know that a friend of hers got a dog from a neighbor that they were going to send to a shelter. She already has a dog and can't handle a second, but didn't want it to go to the shelter. The neighbor has owned the dog for a couple years or so and kept it tied out back or locked in a laundry room mostly and decided they just didn't want it anymore. The dog is about 60lbs. and 3-4 years old. I'm told the dog is a sweetheart and very playful and good around other dogs, but not sure how it is around children or cats. Her name is Daisy. PM me and I'll get you in touch with the person who has her now.

Blessings on your ex! What a beautiful dog that is. I suspect Daisy is part GSD and part hound of some sort, which is a fantastic mix. Playful and energetic, for sure, but also very sweet and friendly. Hopefully someone can give her a great forever home.

I forwarded the picture to my family in Orlando, but my niece and her husband already have two dogs, my nephew and his wife already have two dogs, my brother and his wife already have one dog who likes being the only dog, and their best friends already have two dogs. They had 7 dogs and 12 people for Thanksgiving. Still with all those dog people in the family, maybe they'll know someone.

Sorry, I might have confused you guys. My ex just got me involved, her friend is the one who saved and has the dog and trying to find a home. She offered to meet me half way, but for some reason she thought I lived in Ft. Lauderdale not Tennessee.

Hope he finds a great home soon.

Not to pat myself on the back, but to just let you folks know she will have a new home, I'm leaving early tomorrow morning and making the trip down to Ocala to pick her up. I'm also changing her name to Emma just in case there is anything negative associated to the name Daisy. i just hope she is ok with cats, since I have one and my dad has 3 and he watches my animals when I'm out of town for work.

Made it to Ocala without any issues. Daisy is a gorgeous dog. She is very smart and high energy. I'm not going to change her name. Her she is with Janice, the lady who saved her from going to the shelter.

Nice pic, she looks beautiful. I am glad to read that you are not going to change her name. Your intentions were good but I have seen dogs get really messed up with a name change.

Now we are waiting for the daisy in the way back picture:)

We changed the name of our Black Mouth Cur, who was originally Monroe...a terrible name for a GIRL dog. Because she answered to "Ro" with her original family, I incorporated a new name with a "ro" in it - Rolene! We call her "Ro" all the time, anyway; so to her, she has the "same" name...sorta. It was either going to be that or Rochelle. I liked both, but my wife liked Rolene better.
