I am addict and I need an intervention.

Few material things hold more value to me than a 64 Rambler Classic. But, I have to be out of my mind to even consider this! I was out of work for almost 3months due to an injury, my house needs work, winter is coming...

Can you talk me out of this?

The seller has the wagon listed as a 65, but it is the coveted holy grail year of 1964.

Rear quarters look 'crunchy' but from what you can see it appears to be all there with a unmolested interior.

You're in a heap of trouble boy! You've come to the wrong place for help.
I suggest you go into debt and buy the wagon. Ignore the rust issues and enjoy that low mileage, other wise, clean wagon.
Work slowly and you will feel much better. Don't worry about the house as long as the roof don't leak too bad and the furnace works.

Who cares if the house leaks and the furnace doesn't work. Just find yourself a walmart parking lot to park in, and you can live in the wagon! :biglaugh:

Regret over not doing something is always worse than regret for doing something. Go for it! You can always sell it later. :)

What in the hell is "weather eye"?

If you can afford it then buy it. If you have somewhere to store it so it doesn't deteriorate further while you work on it then buy it. If it is the one you have been looking for then buy. If the repairs are something you can manage even over time then buy it. If it makes you happy then buy it.

Is this how an intervention is suppose to work?:D

If you like that exact type of wagon, you're not going to find a better one for less.

i know i am preaching to the choir! i have looked hi and low for a decent 64 classic or ambassador wagon. and its only about 90 min from me.

and its one tenth the cost of this 64 wagon:

no one understands this addiction except people on here. it broke my heart when i had to sell my matador.

weather eye is what they call there heating & ventilation systems. it dates back to the 30 when nash first introduced using outside air to run through the heater core. then in the 40's they pioneered using vents through the cowl instead of the radiator grill, and avoided engine smells.
