I had to look up Cochise on Google Earth...

You have to drive a ways from Cochise before you even get to 'The Middle of Nowhere'........
    - It's about 60 miles east of Tuscon, and the town's about 2 blocks square. Bring your own food and gas......

    Wow that was fast!!

    Bill,
    Thanks for the reply.
I'm new to the forum but I've been looking for a wagon for a while.
I found one that is exactly what I'm looking for but it's in Cochise, AZ and I'm in Philly.
If possible I'd like to have someone take a look at it for me.
Could you please send me your phone number or call me to discuss?
    Cell: 610-999-5555
    Thanks!
    Tony

Tony, I just got home from work and saw your message.
I'm happy to help any way I can.
I'm about to have dinner and head for bed.
Call me tomorrow at my office, 520-327-1756. My wife Bonnie will answer. Tell her your a friend from the Station wagon site and she'll put right thru.
I can't get to Cochise before dark during the week, so I'll need to do this on Saturday or Sunday.
Let me know what I'm going to look at. I'm pretty good with Chevy's, and know enough to be dangerous on Fords and Mopars. I don't know jack about foreign stuff.
    Talk to you tomorrow.
    Bill

    Thanks!

    Thanks very much Bill.
    We'll talk tomorrow.

    Late reply….sorry.

The car I was after was a 1968 Ford Fairlane wagon.
Plain Jane with a 3 on the tree.
Bill went to go look at it for me and I made a fair offer based on the described condition.
    I was turned down flat.
    Onward……

I wanted to take a second to thank Bill for going out and doing an extensive PI for me.
    I really appreciate the effort.

I'm looking at another Ford wagon this weekend.
    We'll see…….

Tony - How far apart are you and the seller? If it's the ideal wagon for you, maybe it would be worth it to go a bit over what you think it's worth just to get it into your garage. It's gotta be pretty solid if it's in the middle of the Arizona desert.

    About $2400 apart.
Evidently, he has the guys in the Fairlane Club telling him the car is worth all kinds of money.
I came in slightly lower than what I've been seeing in the market figuring we could "dicker" a bit.
He turned me down flat, no counter offer.
    I'm fine with it.
I'm chasing something I like a little better, so it may work out in the end.
More on that after I put the deal together.:D
    Keep your fingers crossed!
