What is the top 3 you wish you could have driven from new. #1 my 2nd 80 New Yorker sunroof ,limited slip plus all options the first one had. #2 My current 06 T&C loaded including sunroof. #3 my 73 charger triple black big block sunroof car! on the other end my 78 diplomat notch-back and 83 dynasty were just cars Most of what i have owned i would have like to have driven from new. my 94 es intrepid was a great car as well.
Dad's first car, brand new in 52 Pontiac Catalina Dad's 63 Mercury, 352 4 speed Dad's brand new off the showroom floor 70 Cougar, q-code 351c 4 speed..... I drove it once, up and down in the driveway.
Diplomats in 1978 were available as a 2-dr coupe, 4-dr sedan & 4-dr wagon. There were NO notchback M-bodys built. And the Dynasty would've been a 1993, not 1983. As far as cars and trucks that I've owned since 1971 (nearly 775), I'd have to go with the following: 1) My '66 Dodge Coronet 500 hardtop, second owner, I bought it in April 1980. Still have it! 2) 1966 Pontiac Bonneville ragtop, 389 Tri-Power with air, 8-lug wheels, power everything. Owned this in 1976, when gas was 55 cents/gallon, and the car got 11 on its best day. Red/red interior and white top. Chick magnet! 3) 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 440. Insanely fast, 440 auto, T5 Bronze Metallic with black interior, top and butt stripe. One of 635 built, and the ONLY documented 440 car with factory disc brakes. There's my three.
Of all the cars you have owned What is the top 3 you wish you could have driven from new. My 1957 Chevy 2-dr HT. My 1949 Olds fastback. I'm still thinking!
Wow. In all my years of seeing cars on the road, at shows and even on the Web, I've never seen a houndstooth vinyl top before. Cool!
1. My '81 Bonneville Safari 2. My '66 Corvair Corsa hardtop (turbocharged, not the 4-carb version) 3. My '69 Thunderbird 4-door landau.
Of all the cars I have owned... nearly all of them were still almost new. I was the one who wore them out. My current wagon "Surf Rat" is almost perfect the way it is. (for now) The only car I wished I had been able to drive new would be this. It's a 1972 Q code Mach 1 with a deluxe interior, 4bbl and 4speed trans. The only options it didn't have was the rear window defroster, side stripes and ram air. Other than that it was maxed out and lots of fun to drive for 7 years. But when I bought it I could barely drive it home so many things were wrong. Replaced so much stuff we would be here for an hour listing them all... and I even purchased a locker rear end that I never got around to putting in. I bought it for a pittance and limped it home after it had nearly 160,000 on the clock. Everything was wore out, but it still had good compression and little rust. Interestingly enough the air-conditioner sorta still blew cool and the 8-track worked. 7 years later it was a pretty nice car, but I couldn't afford keeping it. And the vacuum leaks were driving me nuts. Now I realize a simple carburetor swap would have solved the vacuum problems. But at the time I was more interested in keeping it numbers matching. Sold it for a fortune and now 9 years later, still miss her dearly.
1. my 1965 Tbird Convertible 2. 1982 Ferrari 400i white on white (saw one at a show) 3. 1965 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud (the one with the double head lights) always cool to dream and at least to have one to drive now
In my 30+ years of driving, I have only bought one vehicle brand new. It was a 95 F150. I sold it 6 months later because I hated having payments. I'm too cheap to buy any vehicle new, so I can't play this game.
Settle down boy! It didn't say you actually had to buy them new. Just what you would like to have new. I bought my 1965 Mustang fastback with only a few thousand miles on it and wished I had it new now. I did buy several new vehicles. Last one was after I said I'd never buy new again. I don't listen to me! But I bought it at the end of 2004 and am still driving it which I also said it's my last new vehicle which will outlast me. Scary thing is we are both wearing out . Added stainless running boards right after this photo. Sure gonna hate to leave that place.
the idea was to find out if anyone thought like me "this car is good now (at 10 years old) i would love to have had it from new. My idea came from enjoying my "high mileage " cheap cars that have no payments that turn out to be great cars and wonder how much better they would have been new!
When I had my '83 Pontiac 6000 company vehicle, I liked it so much I wanted to buy it. Unfortunately, I left the company and didn't get the chance. Good job upgrade, but I went from driving a nice 6000 to a Dodge Aries.
In alphabetic order: 59 Cadillac 2dr 59 Galaxie 4dr 66 Mustang GT coupe And absolute worst car I have owned: 68 Datsun 2000
